I’m a PhD student at JCU in Cairns where my research focusses on reconstructing ancient terrestrial landscapes now submerged beneath the sea using mapping and modelling techniques.

I completed my undergraduate studies (BA/BSci) at Monash University then worked for several years as an archaeologist in both government and consulting roles. I returned to study to complete my Honours in archaeology at JCU which led me to pursue my current PhD project. I am particularly interested in how spatial technologies can be used to investigate archaeological landscapes
Supervisors: Distinguished Prof Sean Ulm (JCU), Dr Frédérik Saltré (BEAM), Prof Ian McNiven (Monash) and Associate Prof Alana Grech (JCU)
My research
My PhD research uses geospatial mapping and modelling approaches to investigate the archaeological potential of submerged palaeolandscapes, using Torres Strait as a case study. Palaeolandscape models provide a framework for understanding human history in former terrestrial landscapes now submerged beneath the sea
